Protective measures for aluminum alloy door and window hardware(二)

Measures to prevent damage to door and window hardware

  1. Profiles and hardware fittings need to be highly matched to form a complete matching door and window system. In addition, the specification and performance of hardware have relevant standards and regulations, which can be referred to when purchasing.
  2. Hardware fittings are matched according to the size and specifications of doors and windows, which also have specific requirements. For example, sliding doors generally use double wheels. If the width of sliding windows is greater than 1000mm and double glazing is used, double wheels are required. If the upper hung windows exceed 1000mm, wind braces are required.
  3. Common sliding braces and hinges are made of 304 stainless steel, while friends in coastal areas had better buy 316 to better prevent corrosion.
  4. When installing door and window accessories with fastening screws, make sure to match the metal lining plate, and the thickness of the lining plate shall be at least twice of the fastener pitch. It shall not be fastened to plastic profiles, nor shall non-metallic linings be used.
  5. Pay attention to the correct installation sequence of door and window hardware. Generally, accessories are installed after the window is formed, while door and window locks and handles are installed after the door and window are framed, which can ensure a more accurate installation position.
  6. Door and window hardware, after all, is metal products, which can not avoid the problem of rust and oxidation, so daily rust prevention work is also crucial. In daily use, it shall be opened and placed gently to prevent damage caused by hard opening and closing.
